So Bose is giving its popular QuietComfort headphones a significant refresh for 2026, introducing the QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) for $359 in 5 different colors. The new model keeps the series’ focus on strong noise cancellation and long-wearing comfort, while adding several features previously reserved for Bose’s higher-end QuietComfort Ultra range. The result is a more capable pair of wireless headphones without straying too far from the familiar QuietComfort formula.

The biggest upgrade is Bose TrueSpatial Technology, which brings three Immersive Audio modes to the standard QuietComfort lineup. Still Mode keeps the virtualized stereo sound fixed in space as you move your head, while Motion Mode follows head movement for a more natural experience when you are on the go. Cinema Mode is designed for movies and podcasts, widening the soundstage while keeping dialogue centered and clear. Bose also retains its proprietary SoundDesign digital signal processing and adds wired lossless audio over USB-C at up to 24-bit/48 kHz.

Noise cancellation has also received a technical upgrade. Bose now calls its noise-cancelling system QuietControl, with a six-microphone setup and adaptive feedforward processing designed to maintain performance when the earcup seal is compromised by glasses, hair, or a hat. The updated ActiveSense system in Aware Mode also responds more smoothly to sudden environmental sounds, while users can manually adjust noise cancellation or create custom listening modes through the Bose app.

Connectivity is another area where the new QuietComfort headphones get a useful boost. Bluetooth 5.4 supports multipoint connectivity for two devices, while Android users get Google Fast Pair. USB-C is now a two-way audio connection, supporting both lossless playback and voice input for calls and video meetings through applications such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. A USB-C-to-3.5mm cable is included for traditional wired sources, including airplane entertainment systems.

Battery life remains rated at up to 24 hours, or 18 hours with Immersive Audio enabled. A 15-minute quick charge provides up to 2.5 hours of playback, and the headphones can continue playing while charging. Bose has also redesigned the headband and earcups with smoother adjustment, softer synthetic-leather cushioning, optimized clamping force, and a more oval profile.
