Battlefield 6: A New Era of Large-Scale Warfare released today
Battlefield 6 is released today, on October 10, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X & S, and PC (via Steam, EA App, and Epic Games). This new computer game does not support older PS4 or Xbox One: https://www.amazon.com/Battlefield-6-Sony-PlayStation-5/dp/B0FJHS8TH5
The game is set in a near-future world (around 2027) where NATO is breaking apart and a powerful private military group called Pax Armata rises to fill the power vacuum. Players follow Dagger 13, an elite special forces unit, in a global fight to stop this rogue organization.
The single-player campaign takes players to varied locations, including deserts, urban cities, and war-torn coastlines — with more cinematic action than past titles.

Multiplayer is the heart of Battlefield 6, featuring huge battles with dynamic destruction, vehicle combat, and class-based roles:
You can partially or fully destroy buildings, change the battlefield, and create new tactical options. This level of destruction was made possible by dropping old-gen console support.
A new Kinesthetic Combat System brings smoother movement, advanced vaulting, dragging allies, and more fluid firefights. These changes aim to make combat feel more natural and intense.
Players can create custom game modes and tweak rules using Battlefield Portal, encouraging community creativity and replayability.
Over 200 gameplay tweaks were promised in the day-one patch, based on player feedback. But it has no ray tracing support — EA prioritized consistent performance instead.
The open beta hit over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam, beating all past Battlefield records.
Reviews so far praise the multiplayer scale, graphics, and return to form, though some feel the campaign lacks depth compared to other shooters.
Battlefield 6 brings the franchise back to its roots: big maps, tactical destruction, and intense squad-based combat. With next-gen-only support and a refined engine, it offers one of the most technically ambitious entries in the series.
If you’re a fan of modern warfare shooters with chaotic, large-scale battles, this one’s definitely worth checking out before you decide to buy it.
